Dragon Age The Veilguard Neve Romance Guide

Neve is one of seven potential romance options in Dragon Age: The Veilguard , but you can't conclude her romance arc until right at the end of the game.

Romancing Neve is slightly more difficult if she becomes Hardened as a result of the major decision you make at the end of the 'A Warden's Best Friend' main quest, and it's also possible to cut the romance short if you make some bad decisions at the end of the game, or haven't completed her companion quest.

How to romance Neve in Dragon Age The Veilguard

We've got more details below, but here's the short version of how to romance Neve in Dragon Age: The Veilguard :

• Pick the flirt dialogue choice every time it appears.
• Help Minrathous, not Treviso, at the end of 'A Warden's Best Friend' main quest.
• Express your romantic interest in Neve when the option appears.
• Commit to an exclusive romance with Neve during her 'A Clear Mind' companion quest.
• Complete Neve's companion quest chain to make her a Hero of the Veilguard.
• Talk to Neve in her study during 'The Shadowed Sun' main quest.
• Pick Bellara when the option to send somebody to fix a mirror appears during the 'Isle of the Gods' main quest.
• Go to Rook's room and spend the night with Neve at the start of 'The Dragon and the Dread Wolf' main quest.
• Don't pick Neve for any assignments while making decisions at the end (keep her in your party).
• Talk with Neve one last time before the final battle during the 'One Last Breath' main quest.

There are a few important things to note about the above steps. The first is that you don't actually have to flirt with Neve every time the option appears, as you only need to pick the option a few times before expressing your romantic interest to head down the romance path with Neve. However, it's a good idea to flirt with Neve when the option appears, so you get to see as many unique exchanges with her as possible.

Another important thing to remember is that choosing to help Minrathous, completing Neve's companion questline, picking Bellara over her when the mirror option appears, and keeping Neve in your party at the end aren't required to romance Neve. They do, however, help keep Neve alive during the final few main story quests, and ensure you get as many scenes with her as possible during a single playthrough. So, if you want a happy end to your romance, stick to this plan!

If you pick Neve to fix the mirror instead of Bellara, she also won't be available to spend the night with during 'The Shadowed Sun' main quest.

Lastly, if you're still not sure whether Neve is the companion you want to romance or not - don't worry. You can flirt with other companions at the same time while romancing her, and even express a romantic interest in other companions too. You can do this because your exclusive romance with Neve only starts (or ends) during her 'A Clear Mind' companion quest.

If you commit to Neve during this quest, all other romance options are automatically cut off without you having to turn them down during their committal scenes. However, if you don't commit to Neve, then you're free to persue a romance with anybody you've been flirting with after this quest.

Express romantic interest in Neve

As long as you've picked the flirt option while speaking with Neve a few times, you'll eventually get a scene in her study a short while after you've recruited all seven companions and completed the 'After the Storm' main quest. Keep checking your local map of the Lighthouse until you see a yellow speech bubble with an exclamation mark in it above Neve in her Study. This symbol means Neve wants to speak to you.

Commit to Neve

You get to commit to an exclusive relationship with Neve near the start of her 'A Clear Mind' companion quest. This unlocked for us a short while after completing the 'Fire and Ice' main quest, but it might take a little longer if Neve is Hardened in your playthrough.

So as long as you keep on checking in with Neve at the Lighthouse, and complete all of her companion quests when they appear, you'll eventually unlock this quest and get Neve's commitment scene.

Check in with Neve

As long as you've committed to her, you'll get the objective to check in with Neve during 'The Shadowed Sun' main quest near the end of the game. Talk to Neve in her study to get this short scene.

Share a night with Neve

As long as you didn't pick Neve to fix the mirror during the 'Isle of the Gods' main quest (and previously committed to her), you get the option to return to Rook's room during 'The Dragon and the Dread Wolf' main quest and spend the night with Neve.

Talk to Neve before the final fight

If Neve survived the battle in Minrathous, you'll see her with the rest of your companions in the Safe House area during the 'One Last Breath' main quest, near the end of the game. This is the last chance you get to speak with Neve, outside of some party banter if you have her in your team, so make sure to find her before leaving the safe house.
